It is my great privilege to be affiliated with this tremendous organization. In a world filled with the insanity of man's efforts to control and manipulate his fellow human beings... music becomes the great equalizer. Music makes the world go 'round. Therefore... there is no place for the propitiation of personal politics, hidden agendas nor ulterior motives within C.U.L.A.N.'s neutral boundries . There have been countless attempts throughout the years to create an organization where this perspective is embraced, yet these effort have continued to fail miserably. C.U.L.A.N. was given birth through the efforts of a gentle man who saw the need for an apolitical organization, created by musicians, for musicians and ran by musicians. As artists, we have had the tendency to place our lives into the hands of persons whose central motivation has been primarily financial gain. Certainly we all have to have money to survive in this workaday world but, music is something that needs to remain pure both in it's birth and it's performance. In the formation of C.U.L.A.N. ,Mr. Keith Little has begun a process by which we, as a musical community, may transcend issues of race, color, creed and what appear to be similar obstacles to others in the world, in order to perpetuate a purer form of our art. One of the wonderful characteristics of C.U.L.A.N. is that there is room for everyone to participate. One need not be a performer in order to join in the efforts of this organization. The love of great music is reason enough to become a supporter of this wonderful effort. Sure, I'm a dyed in the wool romantic but I wouldn't have it any other way... regardless, I believe what I've said and will continue to embrace my philosophy and any attempts I see as purely motivated to unite our musical community so that in a concerted effort we may serve as an example of unity to our fellow musicians and citizens of Greater Cincinnati and the world as we carry our music to everyone who has ears to hear. May God bless us all... Peace The Rev! and K.C. The Reverend Billy Rose! and The Legendary SoulShakers!!!

Hi ! I am a fellow blues man in the greater Cincinnati area. I hail from the Hamilton- fairfield area and have been chained to the blues most of my life. I have tried to become a professional in my efforts to keep the blues alive, but some of the local so called "bluesmen" have shunned me in every way. I have heard about your orgainzation for a while, and have grown more curious. I hesitated to persue C.U.L.A.N. for fear of jealous rejection that I have received from other "societys" I have heard (and seen) many fine things about your orgainization and would be proud to be a part of the driving force to keep the legends, both dead and alive, in there place of honor in are world today. I am currently working with a band called the Latenighters (formaly Lanky Frank and the) but have played with many others. Thank you, Russ Abrams Bluesman@cinci.rr.com

There has to come a time when we learn to take care of our own. Because that is the only way the job will be done. It is a sad truth that so many wonderfully talented people have met with such a stark end, after spending a life time making our lives more pleasurable. Music is something meant to be shared.....just as is love. If one loves the music, one must also love it's maker....enough to care what happens to them. It's the law of Nature. Through both love and music, we share, and that is what life is all about. Great work Mr. Little! My hat's off to you! C.H.

You are blessed, Mr. Little. And, the world is blessed by your great presence. Keep the faith alive, and never stop being who and what you are. I salute you! Just wanted to congratulate all of you on such a fine ongoing project. A college professor once told me,"If you put 2 people in the same room for a long time, eventually, they'll have sex; put 3 people in the same room, they'll have politics.". I fervently hope this site never strays too far from its' original mission statements, due to personal considerations. Let the good times roll!

I was working at Willis Music peddling guitars in 1975 when music teacher Larry Talerico told me that the guitarist in the band he was in had quit. Rico wondered if I could cut the gig on the following Friday night. I played that gig and stayed for ten years! I left the band and Cincinnati in mid-1985 to join the Foreign Service and travel the world. I'm now retired from government service and living in the West Virginia countryside. I'm still a guitarist and am watching the blooming career of a Los Angeles nephew, blues man Reeve Carney take off. Dave Heil Cameron, WV
